One of the most celebrated superstars and revered actors in the history of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan has been a part of the film industry for over 50 years now. Yet, every time he appears — whether on screen or in interviews — audiences are captivated, eager to listen to whatever he has to say. While many have frequently discussed the legendary actor’s off-screen persona, anchor and producer Richa Anirudh recently highlighted that his true greatness lies in the respect he shows to those around him, regardless of their status. She also revealed that he personally opens the door for anyone visiting his vanity van, both when they arrive and as they leave. I would think how tired he must have gotten. But after the shoot, he will stay back for the audiences and take pictures with them,” she said. The news anchor also revealed that Big B quietly engages in charitable efforts that he prefers not to publicise. “He has never said these things, but a lot of contestants have told me. A couple had come from Indore on KBC. I think they worked for speech and hearing impaired people. When I met them last year, they told me that, 15-20 days after they won a prize money from the show and left, they received a call from Bachchan saab’s office informing them that he wishes to contribute to them separately.” Also Read | Amitabh Bachchan’s father slipped into deep depression after his first wife’s death, Big B reveals how he found love again with mother Teji She also recounted a story of a young boy from Delhi who participated in KBC. “Sir always asks the contestants, ‘if you win, what will you do with the prize money?’ In response, the man said he wishes to buy a car for his sister because while she was travelling on a bus once, she was molested by someone and she later told him, ‘ kaash bhai, hamari paas car hoti… (brother, I wish we had a car…)’ During the break, Bachchan saab’s team told me he had instructed them that if the contestant didn’t win enough, he would gift him a car. The contestant ended up winning a large amount, but even if he hadn’t, he still would have received a car. And no one would have ever known that the car came from Amitabh Bachchan,” she added. Praising Big B’s dedication and commitment to every role, Richa revealed that even now, before the filming of KBC episodes, he sits down in the production control room and reads the entire script in front of the teleprompter.
