A habitual offender has been arrested from Nuh for allegedly killing a woman he was in a relationship with, police said Wednesday. The accused was out on bail for allegedly killing the victim’s husband in 2019 following an argument over their relationship, police added. The woman’s death came to light on October 13 when her children found her unconscious in a pool of blood on the first floor of their house. The victim, Samina, 30, and the accused Toffique alias Sonu, were allegedly in an extramarital relationship, said Southeast Delhi DCP Ravi Kumar Singh. According to police, Toffique wanted to live with Samina’s family at her residence. “Around 9 pm on October 12, he sneaked into the victim’s house in Khadda Colony and stayed on the first floor overnight. Next morning, around 9 am, they had a heated argument following which he cut the woman’s throat and stabbed all over her body before escaping to Mewat (Haryana),” police said. Later, the victim’s children found their injured mother and alerted the Kalindi Kunj police station. The police traced Toffique to Parli village near Nuh and arrested him on October 14. The weapon allegedly used to kill Samina has also been recovered. “Toffique has a previous criminal record, including involvement in four other cases,” the DCP said. In addition to the murder of the victim’s husband Rashid five years ago, Singh said that the accused “was jailed again for attempting to murder the victim’s neighbour, Gulzar while on bail”. According to Gulzar’s complaint, based on which an FIR was registered on May 12 last year, Toffique allegedly attacked him, and his brother and sister-in-law who came to his rescue, with a knife over a previous altercation in April. The accused was charged with attempted murder following the complaint. During interrogation, the accused, a diploma-holder, told the police that he was going to Mewat to arrange a countrymade pistol to kill Gulzar. None
