Delhi: Big blow to AAP, five Aam Aadmi Party councillors join BJP

The Delhi BJP unit on Sunday welcomed five Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillors who have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the BJP Delhi unit informed of the major switch by the AAP councillors which came amid the party's poor performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. The five Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillors who have switched sides to the saffron party in the national capital include Ram Chandra, Pawan Sehrawat, Manju Nirmal, Sughandha Bidhuri and Mamta Pawan. In a statement released, BJP Delhi president Virendraa Sachdeva spoke of the AAP leaders' decision. He said, " AAP's corruption and them not doing any work, because of these reasons, these 5 people have joined BJP. They all have one intention only, the way PM Modi is giving direction to development and carrying everyone forward, we also want to work in Delhi for our people and we welcome such people" Further, besides the three, AAP’s Said-Ul-Ajaib councillor Umed Singh Phogat and AAP members Ratnesh Gupta and Sachin Rai also joined the BJP.
