Mother handcuffs 6-year-old son, watches as a pit bull mauls the boy

The mother handcuffed the boy and the three accused also tied his feet. A mother in Ohio, United States, handcuffed her son and let a pit bull maul him. The woman's boyfriend and the six-year-old's uncle are now facing child endangerment charges for the heinous act. Deputies received a call about the boy who faced the terrible tragedy on August 17 in a Northeast Ohio home. The boy was punished by his mother and the other two men for failing to clean up after the dog. The woman, Angelina Williams, told the court that she wasn't aware that handcuffing a child was illegal. "The dog is not even my dog. The cuffs are not even my cuffs," Williams said in a court in Ashland County last week. The dog was owned by the boy's uncle Robert Michalski Jr who also owned the residence where the attack took place. Williams's boyfriend, Taylor Desiree Marvin Brown, was also visiting the place when the incident took place. "I didn't even know the cuffs were illegal or anything was wrong with it. My uncle told me it was OK," the woman added. Ashland County Prosecutor Chris Tunnell told the court about the horrible sequence of events. He said that the boy was not only handcuffed, but his feet were also tied together. 'This defendant and the co-defendants handcuffed him, both hands, and then applied a second set of cuffs to his feet,' Tunnell told the judge. He added that the trio was about to tie him to a chair when he fell off and that's when the pit bull attacked the boy. The boy sustained severe injuries on his neck and ear and is being treated at a hospital. His grandmother told WSAZ-3 that her grandson is expected to recover. The kids were with her during a scheduled visit. "I come in, and I look at my grandson who is sitting on the floor and - not to cuss - I'm like, "Why the f**k does he have handcuffs on?'" she said. She said that she jumped in to help the boy and also sustained minor injuries on her hands in the process. "It was just a reaction, when the dog did it. I automatically just reached down. I saw where the dog was going, like it went in slow motion," she said. The Ashland County Sheriff said that Michalski and the dog escaped before the deputies arrived and were later found hiding in a cubbyhole. The woman has been charged with endangering children, while Michalski is charged with endangering children and tampering with evidence.
