Following heavy rainfall in Mumbai and its suburbs, flight operations in the financial capital of the country were significantly impacted on Sunday, leading to the cancellation and diversion of multiple flights. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation also cautioned residents to stay indoors unless essential, following an orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the city and neighboring districts. “The IMD has issued an orange alert (heavy to very heavy) rainfall for Mumbai today.
