A 2015 IAS batch officer, Tanu belons to the Sadar area of Delhi and did her schooling at Cambridge School. She pursued a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Subharti Medical College while simultaneously preparing for the UPSC exam. Tanu cleared the preliminary examination in just two months on her first attempt but faced setbacks in the mains. Undeterred, she persevered and, on her third attempt in 2014, achieved an All India Rank of 648. Following her success, she served in various capacities within the civil service for over seven years, focusing on healthcare reforms and educational initiatives. Despite her fulfilling career as an IAS officer, Dr. Jain made the bold decision to resign from her position to pursue her passion for teaching full-time. She recognised the difficulties faced by UPSC aspirants and wanted to make a meaningful impact on their journeys. In her own words, "My job in civil services was fulfilling, but I wanted to help others navigate the challenges of UPSC preparation." Dr Tanu Jain has since established her own coaching institute, Tathastu ICS, where she provides guidance and support to aspiring civil servants. Her engaging motivational speeches and practical advice have garnered her a substantial following on social media, with over 840,000 followers on Instagram. In addition to her coaching efforts, Tanu is also involved in writing and conducting mock interviews for UPSC candidates, helping them enhance their preparation strategies.
