Actress Kangana Ranaut has released the trailer of the much-awaited film Emergency . She took to her X (formerly Twitter) on Monday and posted the two-minute-long trailer. Studio also shared the video on their YouTube channel. It seems as if history is about to repeat itself in this highly anticipated period of political drama Emergency. The film has kept netizens hooked to the screens. Anupam Kher plays Jayaprakash Narayan, who writes her a letter from the jail and Shreyas Talpade is seen as the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Further, Kangana's character says in the Assembly that the only way to accept the truth is to start a war. She is seen going against all other leaders as she takes the decision. Milind Soman, as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is seen asking her if she wants a war and she confirms that she wants a war. The political drama Emergency is written, directed, and co-produced by Kangana and will be released in theatres on January 17. The film focuses into the emergency imposed by the late PM for 21 months from 1975 to 1977 and its aftermath. The film will also star Mahima Chaudhry as Pupul Jayakar, Ashok Chhabra as Morarji Desai, Vishak Nair as Sanjay Gandhi and the late Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram. Kangana said, 'After a long journey filled with challenges, I'm glad that our film Emergency will finally hit the big screen on 17th January. This story isn't just about a controversial leader; it delves into themes that remain profoundly relevant today, making the journey both difficult and significant.
