Republican vice-presidential candidate and Ohio Senator JD Vance took a jab at Vice President Kamala Harris, as he referred to her as "trash" during his Atlanta rally over recent "garbage" rhetoric. During a rally in Atlanta on Monday (Nov. 4), gathering support on the election eve, he criticised Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and said that in two days, she would be out. "The citizens of this country are not garbage for thinking you're doing a bad job," Vance said. “They are not racist for wanting to secure the southern border, and they are not wrong for wanting to afford groceries and a decent place to live. In two days, we are going to take out the trash in Washington DC, and the trash’s name is Kamala Harris.” Also read: Biden calls Trump supporters 'floating garbage,' faces immediate backlash In his remarks, he criticised a statement by President Joe Biden, who in a video call on Tuesday, labelled supporters of Donald Trump as "garbage". Biden said he was condemning comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who had derided Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage," while appearing at a recent Trump rally. "The only garbage I see floating out there," are his supporters, Biden said last week. Rather than pointing to Biden, Vance slammed Harris. "And I want to ask us not to follow Kamala Harris’ terrible example, because I’m sure that everyone, single one of us, all of us gathered here, know somebody planning to vote the wrong way tomorrow,” Vance told the Georgia crowd. “Here in our movement, we love every citizen of this country.” Watch | Donald Trump's Day Out: Private Jet To Garbage Truck Critics oppose Vance's 'trash' remarks on Harris Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter Bernice King urged voters to "turn the page" in the upcoming elections.
