BJP provided 10 lakh jobs in 1.5 years, empowering youth and women: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at a Rozgar Mela through a virtual event on Monday, shared that his government has provided nearly 10 lakh permanent government jobs to young people in the last one to one-and-a-half years. He called this a record and said such job creation in a “mission mode” has not been seen under any previous government. At the event, over 71,000 appointment letters were given to new recruits. The PM emphasised that young people are at the heart of his government’s plans and policies. He said that honesty and transparency have been key in the recruitment process. Rozgar Melas, he explained, are helping the youth by giving them opportunities and allowing them to realize their potential. “The youth of India today are full of confidence and are succeeding in every sector,” he added. Modi also noted the large number of women among the new recruits. He said his government is working to ensure that women become self-reliant in every field. As an example, he mentioned the government’s decision to grant 26 weeks of maternity leave to women, which has supported their careers. Additionally, he highlighted that women are the majority owners of the houses built under the PM Awas Yojana. He called this progress a sign of women-led development in India. Modi said that his government is focused on using the talent and skills of Indian youth through initiatives such as Start-Up India, Digital India , and reforms in the space and defence sectors. He pointed out that the National Education Policy has been designed with the youth in mind and gives special attention to promoting the use of Indian languages in education. To remove language barriers, recruitment exams are now offered in 13 Indian languages. The Prime Minister paid tribute to former Prime Minister Charan Singh on his birth anniversary, recognising his dedication to rural development and the progress of India. Modi said his government has followed Singh’s vision by creating job and self-employment opportunities in villages. He added that it was his government’s honor to award Charan Singh the Bharat Ratna earlier this year. Union Minister Jitendra Singh also spoke at the event. He said that more than 29% of the 71,000 new recruits belong to the Other Backward Classes category. He added that under the Modi government, job opportunities for backward classes have increased by 27% compared to the 10 years of the UPA government. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes made up 15.8% and 9.6% of the new recruits, respectively. Modi stated that the future of any country depends on the hard work, skills, and leadership of its youth. He said India is on track to become a developed nation by 2047, and the government is focused on creating opportunities for young talent. In his concluding remarks, Modi said the government is committed to empowering the youth and ensuring they play a central role in building a strong and prosperous India. He said the country is reaching new heights and creating opportunities in every field, thanks to the determination and talent of its young generation. With inputs from PTI None
