England announce squads for white-ball series against Australia, five uncapped players included in T20Is

The England Cricket Board has announced two squads for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia, starting next month. England are set to host Australia for a three-match T20I series and a five-match ODI series, starting from September 11. As per the squads announced by the England board, five uncapped players have been included in the T20I set-up. The uncapped players are in the 15-member squad are: Essex batter Jordan Cox, Warwickshire pair Jacob Bethell and Dan Mousley, Leicestershire seamer Josh Hull, and Hampshire fast bowler John Turner. In the ODI set-up, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Matthew Potts, Jamie Smith and Josh Hull have been included in the squad. Bairstow, Moeen and Jordan not picked Jonny Bairstow , Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan have not been picked in either of the T20I of the ODI squads. All three players were picked in England's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, Tom Hartley, who was with the English side for their Caribbean tour, has also been excluded from the team. Notably, Mark Wood has missed out on the squads due to injuries. Wood suffered a right muscle strain in the first Test against Sri Lanka and has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests against the Lankan Lions. Jos Buttler will be leading the side in both ODIs and T20Is as he returns from a strained calf, which he picked up in his preparation for the Hundred.
