Amid its ongoing struggle at the box office , Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2 has received a shout-out from superstar Rajinikanth. The Jailer actor spoke to the media stationed outside the Chennai airport on Sunday and also gave an update about his upcoming films Coolie and Vettaiyan. Rajinikanth was returning to Chennai after attending a wedding in Kerala with his wife Latha. When Rajinikanth was asked about his friend Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 , he admitted that he has watched the film and that he found it “good.” Rajinikanth also gave an update on director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie and said, “Coolie’s shooting is progressing well.” The media then asked Rajinikanth about the release of his much-anticipated film Vettaiyan. During the interaction, the actor hinted at the film being postponed. He said, “Release [date] hasn’t been finalized yet. However, he wasn’t able to reiterate the confirmation during his recent interaction with the media in Chennai. He had said in June, “Vettaiyan will release for Dussehra. I have completed my portions. The shooting with other members of the cast is still going on. The film will release on October 10 or so.” Written and directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions. The film stars Rajinikanth in the titular role, along with an ensemble cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan , Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. The film will reunite Rajinikanth with Big B after a gap of 33 years. They were last seen together in the Hindi film Hum. None
