Cultsport Forge XR: A stylish, rugged smartwatch to keep you fit on the go

Timekeeping is no longer the same. In 2024, it’s quite literally raining smartwatches leaving consumers spoilt for choice. We now have hundreds of brands offering the best of technology at competitive prices. In an ocean of smartwatches, it may get difficult to pick the one that’s best suited for you. However, zeroing in on your priorities may help you find the smartwatch that matches your lifestyle. To be precise, there is a smartwatch for every type of activity and personality . Sports and fitness brand Cultsport recently launched its smartwatch – Forge XR, a rugged watch that it claims can be your ally through sunshine and rain. I tried the latest offering from Cult for a week. Although, I am not an avid fan of adventure sports or the grand outdoors. However, here are my thoughts about the new Cult Forge XR. Cult’s Forge XR has been thoughtfully designed for the outdoors. I unboxed the device to witness a watch that looked and felt as if it was made for those with a spirit of adventure. From the firm dial to the durable yet peppy strap, the watch gave an impression of assurance and endurance. I opted for the Neon Green shade of the Forge XR. This was a tough decision to make as I have an odd fascination with devices that are matte black. However, the neon paid off, as I got frequently asked about the watch on my wrist which stood out. From curious gazes to compliments like ‘that’s a fine looking watch’, Cult scores big time in the looks department with this watch. Also, it is super light, and handling it is easy-peasy. The watch comes with a 1.52-inch Super AMOLED display with 700 nits peak brightness. Its 466×466 resolution coupled with the peak brightness adds to the legibility factor. The screen is vivid and pops out with vibrant colours . It has minimal graphics and is a straightforward device that doesn’t overpromise. Along with a robust build, the watch can survive the rigours of a working professional’s day which includes incessant calls and texts. The Cultsport Forge XR comes with an inbuilt mic and speaker, which I found to be decent. One can read their texts by simply swiping up, however, there is no option to reply back , which some may find inconvenient. Perhaps, one of the biggest USPs of the Cultsport Forge XR is the plethora of sports modes. I enjoy brisk walking and the watch came in handy when tracking my steps and ensuring that I accomplished all my daily targets. Be it running, cycling, climbing, or using an elliptical machine, the Forge XR offers fairly accurate tracking of your preferred sporting activity. The watch offers continuous Heart Rate monitoring with Si-Tech precision Sensors. It allows you to track your SPO2 level, steps, calories, etc. The smartwatch comes with some state-of-the-art sensors that track your movements and offer real-time data allowing you to have a comprehensive view of your activities and health tracking. Its Ultra Sync technology offers easy pairing and effortless Bluetooth calling. One can stay connected with the quick dial access and easy contact storage. One can also access their smartphone camera using the Forge XR. Although I didn’t have much use for it, this could be great for selfies. The Cultsport Forge XR is a durable smartwatch that not only looks good on your wrist but is also highly utilitarian . The design, fit, and the array of features worked for me. While the smartwatch is priced at Rs 9,999, one can get it under Rs 3,000 on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart . At a heavily discounted price, this is a great smartwatch to own and even gift someone.
