One trapped as 3-storey building collapses in Navi Mumbai

A three-storey building in Navi Mumbai’s Shahbaz village area collapsed on Saturday morning with rescue personnel starting operations to bring out those trapped under the rubble. “The building collapsed at around 7 am. 39 adults and 13 children were living in it. Two people have been rescued so far and some others are feared trapped,” an official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. This comes barely a week after one person was killed and four others injured after portions of a four-storey Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority building collapsed near Grant Road railway station in Mumbai . The balcony and slab portions of the second and third floors of the building partially collapsed at around 11 am, leaving some sections hanging precariously, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. Seven to eight residents were stranded on the fourth floor. None
