‘FreePavel’: Elon Musk calls for release of Telegram app CEO Pavel Durov in France

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has reacted to Telegram app’s billionaire founder and CEO Pavel Durov’s arrest in France. Durov was reportedly arrested at the Bourget airport outside Paris at around 8 pm after he flew in from Azerbaijan. As per reports, he has been arrested allegedly for a lack of moderators on Telegram. The police believe this has enabled criminal activity to persist unchecked on the app. Reacting to the news of Durov’s arrest, Elon Musk posted a Grok message from his account on X talking about the arrest, saying, “Check out this ad for the First Amendment. One post captioned ‘ Dangerous times’ showed a post listing different countries’ apparent “attack” on free speech. That particular post said, “Free speech is under attack all across the globe.
