NTA postpones UGC NET 2024 exam due to Janmashtami; New date announced

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the UGC NET examination originally scheduled for August 26. According to an official notification, the decision was made due to the observance of Krishna Janmashtami on that date. The exams that were set for August 26 will now take place on August 27, while the rest of the UGC NET schedule remains unchanged until further notice. On August 26, NTA was scheduled to conduct exams for seven language papers: Philosophy, Hindi, Oriya, Nepali, Manipuri, Assamese, and Santali. In the meantime, the NTA has released the city intimation slips for the UGC NET exams scheduled on August 21, 22, and 23. Slips for other dates will be released shortly, as per the official website. 1. Visit the official UGC NET website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in. 2. Click on the ‘Advance Exam City Intimation’ link on the homepage. 3. Enter your application number, date of birth, and captcha. 4. The exam city intimation slip will appear on the screen. 5. Candidates can view, save, and print the slip for future reference. Candidates are advised to regularly check the NTA websites, nta.ac.in and ugcnet.nta.nic.in, for the latest updates. The UGC NET June 2024 exam will be conducted from August 21 to September 4 in a computer-based test (CBT) format. Previously, a test held on June 18 was canceled due to confirmed accusations of a paper leak. That test was conducted in two shifts in pen-and-paper (offline) mode. The UGC NET exam is held twice a year for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), assistant professor appointments, and PhD program admissions in Indian universities and colleges.
