Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh has been crowned Femina Miss India World 2024 at a grand finale held in Mumbai on Wednesday night. Hailing from the city of Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, Nikita started her career as a TV anchor and later moved onto acting and theater. She is also part of a feature film that has been showcased at international festivals and will soon be released in India. Crowned by last year’s winner, Nandini Gupta, Nikita was given the prestigious title during a glittering ceremony. Neha Dhupia, a former Miss India, placed the sash on her. The first runner-up was Rekha Panday from the Union Territories, and Ayushi Dholakia from Gujarat secured the second runner-up position. The event was star-studded, with Sangeeta Bijlani performing and other celebrities like Raghav Juyal and Anusha Dandekar gracing the red carpet. The jury, including Anusha Dandekar, had shortlisted 30 state winners after a nationwide talent search. These finalists underwent extensive training and grooming before competing in the finale. As the winner, Nikita will now represent India at the Miss World pageant, joining the ranks of iconic Miss World winners like Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra . She is determined to live by her motto, “Be a life that matters, a loss that’s felt,” and has dreams of working with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Nikita credits her journey and growth for inspiring her to be the best version of herself. “When I look back and see how far I’ve come, I realize I have the power to shape my future,” she says, adding that this motivates her to keep pushing forward.
