Aishwarya Rai and Preity Zinta ‘chose to look through me’ during Mohabbatein and Veer Zaara, recalls Rushad Rana

Actor Rushad Rana, who has primarily appeared in television shows, recently shared the praise he received for his work in the popular TV show Kehta Hai Dil from Rani Mukerji. In a recent interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Rushad recalled playing a small role in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, directed by Aditya Chopra. He remembered sharing a warm equation with Rani Mukerji , who had a special appearance in the film. Rushad revealed that Rani praised his performance in Kehta Hai Dil and even mentioned that her mother, Krishna Mukherjee, is a big fan of his work. He said, “I was first surprised when Shah Rukh Khan remembered me from Mohabbatein, and then pleasantly shocked when Rani Mukerji told me her mom is a big fan of my work. At that time, I was doing a show called Kehta Hai Dil. It was a popular and hit show, and Rani’s mom used to watch it regularly, with Rani often joining her. She told me, ‘I admire you TV guys. How do you manage to say dialogues after dialogues?’ I remember that interaction vividly, and throughout the shoot, she was very warm.” Despite having a great rapport with Rani, Rushad shared that he didn’t have the same experience working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Mohabbatein and with Preity Zinta in Veer Zaara, both Yash Raj Films productions. He recalled, “I didn’t have any interaction with Aishwarya. She chose to look right through us. Preity Zinta did the same during Veer Zaara. That’s okay; what can you do? You can’t exactly say ‘Hi’ to those who choose to ignore you.” Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi marked Aditya Chopra’s return to direction after an eight-year hiatus following his previous film, Mohabbatein (2000). The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer was a massive success at the box office, earning Rs 157 crore against a budget of Rs 31 crore.
