Prithvi Shaw, the Mumbai batter, faced a tough blow during the IPL 2025 auction when he went unsold despite a base price of Rs 75 lakh. Released by the Delhi Capitals, Shaw didn’t attract any bids from the ten franchises. In the aftermath of this disappointment, a video of Shaw has been making rounds on social media, where he opened up about the trolling he has endured throughout his career. In the video, shared on the YouTube channel “Focused Indian” three days ago, Shaw candidly discussed how he deals with online criticism. He acknowledged that trolls often keep tabs on him, saying, “If he is not following me, then how will he troll? That means he has eyes on me, nice.” While admitting that trolling can sometimes hurt, he maintained a balanced perspective: “I feel like trolling is not a good thing, but it is not such a bad thing either,” Shaw said. Shaw also revealed that he sees the memes and posts made about him. “If people make memes on me, I see them as well. I sometimes get hurt,” he said. Reflecting on a specific instance, he shared how he was trolled for celebrating his birthday. “I was wondering what wrong have I done. I know if I am doing anything wrong. But if something is not wrong, it should be shown in that light,” Shaw said. The video has sparked wide-spread discussion, with fans and critics sharing it across various social media platforms. One user wrote, “I really hope Prithvi Shaw comes back even stronger. Ups and downs are a part of life, and he still has time to make a comeback. He knows where he’s gone wrong, and it’s up to him to sort it out.” Another person wrote, “From being said next tendulkar to being unsold in ipl dropping from his state ranji team. The downfall has been massive. I just hope that he becomes discipline and comeback. Ik its difficult to come at the very top. But atleast make great comeback in domestic cricket and ipl.” A third user commented, “Hardwork can change badluck into goodluck @PrithviShaw – I support you. Practice hard and inspire others.” Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif expressed his disappointment after Prithvi Shaw went unsold in the IPL auction, despite a base price of Rs 75 lakh. Speaking on Jio Cinema, Kaif spoke about how the Delhi Capitals had shown unwavering faith in Shaw over the years, banking on his explosive batting in the powerplay. “Delhi backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. They believed he could dominate the powerplay and hit six boundaries in an over, and he did that too. He smashed Shivam Mavi for six fours in one over,” Kaif said. However, he pointed out that despite his immense potential, Shaw failed to consistently deliver. “We always felt that if Shaw got going, we would win, and we gave him numerous opportunities,” Kaif said. He suggested that other players like Sarfaraz Khan, who earned national team recognition through sheer weight of domestic runs, could serve as an example for Shaw to follow. None
