Actor Abhishek Bachchan has been garnering praise for his latest film I Want to Talk . The film directed by Shootjit Sircar is an emotional tale revolving around a father and daughter’s bond. Recently in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Shoojit revealed how Abhishek’s performance in the film reflected many attributes of his mother Jaya Bachchan. Shoojit Sircar said, “Abhishek steals your heart in this film, I saw a lot of Jayaji in his performance. You will see her warmth and charm in his character in the film too. I remember Jayaji in a Satyajit Ray film standing near a wall and staring, you will find those stares in his eyes too.” Also Read: I Want to Talk box office collection Day 5: Abhishek Bachchan film performs slightly better, collects mere 1.68 crore Reacting to this appreciation coming from Shoojit, Abhishek also added, how he has always been given references to his father Amitabh Bachchan ’s work, this was the first comparison to his mother Jaya Bachchan. “Throughout my career of 25 years, there has been such huge reference to my father and his amazing work, but very few attribute anything to my beautiful mother. I am glad Shoojit did, she will be very happy. She keeps saying, ‘you’re my son too’. I am not worthy of being spoken about in the same sentence as these great actors,” he said. Interestingly, many have compared Abhishek’s performance in the film to that of Amitabh Bachchan in Piku. However, Shoojit compared Junior Bachchan to Irrfan Khan and Jaya Bachchan. The film has been critically acclaimed, and Abhishek has been lauded for his interesting performance in the film, however, the Shoojit Sircar film is struggling to make a mark at the box office. So far, I Want To Talk has only earned Rs 1.68 crores in the domestic market. In the last few years, Abhishek Bachchan has been experimenting with his roles. In 2023, he was seen in the sports drama Ghoomer, and in 2022 his performance as a politician in the OTT film Dasvi was quite loved.
