Sumit Yadav, a first-year civil engineering student at IIT Bombay, shares how the institute has evolved him from a scared kid searching for his place to someone who has found a newfound tranquillity. The thought of becoming an engineer initially sparked in his mind after he cracked the National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) in 2020. The inspiration to take JEE Main and Advanced came from a combination of factors and the reputation and prestige associated with the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) played a significant role, Sumit said. Aaditya Kumar was among the 23 students who achieved a 100 percentile score in JEE Main 2024 session 1. Originally hailing from Bengaluru, Kumar had relocated to Kota in June 2022 to prepare for the JEE Main. Accompanied by his mother, they shifted to the city renowned for its coaching centers. According to the 100 percentile scorer, maintaining calm and self-confidence is crucial for achieving a good score in the JEE. "Many students tend to panic and lose confidence during the exam. That's one of the biggest obstacles. It's essential to believe in yourself and your preparation. Panicking can undo all the efforts you've invested over the past few years," Kumar advised.
