Even as the hype around Amaran continues to rise, the makers of Sai Pallavi’s next film, Thandel, headlined by Naga Chaitanya , announced its release date. The much-awaited Chandoo Mondeti film is set to hit the screens on February 7, instead of its previously announced Sankranthi plans. At an event attended by the lead actors, and producer Allu Aravind, Chandoo shared that 10 days of shoot are left for the romantic drama. Promotions are expected to kick off soon, considering that the film will be mounted as a pan-India release. It is said that Chaitanya plays a fisherman from the Srikakulam coast, who gets arrested by the Pakistan army. Based on true incidents, the film is about how the protagonist, who is locked up in Pakistan for over a year, finds his way back home thanks to his girlfriend’s (Sai Pallavi) doggedness in pursuing the government to take necessary action. Backed by Allu Aravind and Bunny Vas, Thandel will have music by Devi Sri Prasad and cinematography by Shamdat. Chandoo, who recently helmed the National award-winning Kartikeya 2, has previously worked with Naga Chaitanya on Premam (2016), and Savyasachi (2018) . Naga Chaitanya, who was recently in the news for his engagement with actor Sobhita Dhulipala and their impending marriage, has been one of the few mainstream top-tier Telugu actors to balance streaming series with his film commitments.
