YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Goes Snow Dipping At -10°C, Warns Of Hypothermia Risk: SEE VIDEO

Written by Prerna Mittra | Updated : January 6, 2025 8:51 PM IST Famous YouTuber Dhruv Rathee -- who has millions of people following him on social media, where he uploads educational videos on various topics from around the world -- took to Instagram to post a rather daring video of himself snow-dipping in -10 C . Rathee, who calls himself a 'YouTube educator and traveller', was seen wearing only a pair of boxer shorts with nothing to cover his upper body. While it was not clear as to where exactly he posted the video from, the 30-year-old announced his intentions of taking a dive into the snow that seemed to cover everything around him, including the trees and the soil. "Friends, the temperature outside is -10 C. It is snowing. Come, let's take a dive in it," he was heard saying in the video. As Rathee leapt after doing a little warm-up exercise, a warning message flashed on the screen: "Whatever you are about to see in this video can be dangerous. There is a risk of hypothermia and frostbite [when you undertake such activities]. Do not attempt it without training or supervision. If you have any pre-existing health condition, refrain from doing this stunt," Rathee stated in a voiceover. He was later seen taking fast and shallow breaths, exhaling sharply as snow surrounded his entire body and reached his torso area. He even gathered some snow to cover himself, as the person behind the camera asked him if he could 'go any deeper'. "Scientifically, there aren't many studies done on [snow dipping benefits]. But psychologically, I feel motivated when I do this. You do not always need snow to attempt it, you can try it at home by taking a cold shower to find out how much it motivates you." As he proceeded to move towards the warmth and comfort of his house, Rathee's skin turned red. "This is normal; just make sure you do not stay out too long in the cold," he cautioned.
