Cybersecurity job listings surge 14 per cent: Bengaluru leads hiring boom as demand for data protection grows

Cybersecurity job listings rose 14% from last year, based on an analysis of demand for data safety, the Indeed report concludes. Indeed, a global job search website monitored job postings and clicks from September 2023 to September 2024. Sashi Kumar, the Head of Sales for Indeed India , feels that since our lives are gradually moving online, companies are looking at ways to protect data and this in turn will result in recruiting more cybersecurity experts. According to him, it is growing very rapidly and hence there are many job opportunities in this space. Apart from the country and industry -wise trend, the report also analysed city-specific trends. According to the report, Bengaluru emerged as one of the cities with the highest numbers of cybersecurity job openings, accounting for nearly 10% of the overall listings. Delhi-NCR follows with 4%, remote positions come at 2.2%, and both Hyderabad and Mumbai are left with 2%. The city of Bengaluru has emerged as India’s tech capital, home to countrywide top IT companies, startups , and transnational firms that fuel a rise in cybersecurity jobs . More and more digital operations coming up have made businesses in the city become increasingly focused on cybersecurity; therefore, the demand for the right set of professionals is automatically increasing. Delhi-NCR follows closely, as the region has the status of a high corporate center, with mostly multiple multinational corporations, government agencies, and financial organisations, which adds to its share of cybersecurity job openings.
